Chelsea confirmed that the club management and coach Mauricio Pochettino had reached an agreement to part ways.

After bringing Chelsea to sixth place at the end season of the Premier League, Pochettino did not continue with the Blues.

“On behalf of everyone at Chelsea, we would like to thank Mauricio for his service this season. He would be welcome back at Stamford Bridge at any time and we wish him all the best for his future coaching career,” said Sport Directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley in a release on the official Chelsea website.

In the last few days Pochettino and Chelsea officials held meetings. With a mutual agreement to separate, Chelsea will be Pochettino with a new coach next season.

There is no official information yet on the new coach candidate who will be handling Cole Palmer and the team in the 2024/2025 next season.

Pochettino, who has been signed at the start of this season, failed to lead Chelsea to get any title. The London club’s best achievement was being runners up in the League Cup.

Chelsea also struggled at the beginning of the season before ended the season in sixth place.

From the 51 matches Pochettino matches with Chelsea this season, 26 matches in between ended with victory. Meanwhile, 11 matches ended in a draw, and the remaining 14 matches were defeats.

“Thank you to the Chelsea ownership group and Sporting Director for the opportunity to be part of the history of this football club. The club is now well positioned to continue progressing in the Premier League and Europe in the years to come,” said Pochettino.

It is also known that apart from Pochettino, the four assistants who used to accompanied him, namely Jesus Perez, Miguel d’Agostino, Toni Jimenez and Sebastiano Pochettino, also left Stamford Bridge.
