The Story of Kylian Mbappe’s Mother’s Words That Made Chelsea Regret 5g2m5

The story of Kylian Mbappe’s mother’s words that made Chelsea regret is interesting to discuss. Because if in the past it was Chelsea who had hurt Mbappe’s mother, Fayza Lamari, now it is The Blues – Chelsea’s nickname – who have to bite their fingers because they regret failing to get Mbappe’s services when he was still very young.

Yes, Chelsea apparently had the opportunity to recruit Mbappe when the French player was still 13 years old. To be precise, in 2011, Mbappe had a trial at Chelsea.

However, Chelsea at that time were not satisfied with the game of the footballer who is now 25 years old. According to former Chelsea talent scout, Daniel Boga, at that time Mbappe did not fit into the English football style.

According to Boga, English football is played with fast movements, even when losing the ball, the player must be responsible and chase it. However, Boga saw that at that time Mbappe did not chase when he lost the ball.

“You know English football, you make tackles, you chase opponents when you lose the ball. However, he (Mbappe) is not like that. When he loses the ball, he just stops playing,” said Boga, as reported when telling The Athletic, Wednesday (7/8/2024).

That was the reason why Chelsea asked Mbappe to come and do another trial. However, Lamari did not accept Chelsea’s statement that doubted his son’s game.

Lamari even emphasized that Chelsea should immediately recruit him now. Because if not, then in the next few years Lamari believes Mbappe will be worth 50 million pounds

“Then his mother said ‘no, we won’t come back’. At that time I was the one who translated what he said. Then he said ‘Tell them, he won’t come back. If you want to recruit him, then recruit him now. In five years you will come back to us to pay him 50 million pounds. Translate that'” said Boga, recounting the moment Lamari got emotional with Chelsea.

Now, Lamari’s words have actually come true. According to Transfermarkt, Mbappe’s current market value is 180 million euros.

After being rejected by Chelsea, Mbappe ed the AS Monaco Academy in 2013. He only moved up to the senior team in 2016 and was recruited by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 2018 after being brought in on loan a year earlier.

With PSG, Mbappe’s name has shone even brighter. He even helped the French National Team win the 2018 World Cup. Now, Mbappe has ed Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.
