The Argentine National Team (Timnas) confirmed the 2021 Copa America title. The Tango team won 1-0 over Brazil in the final which took place at the Maracana Stadium, Sunday (11/7/2021).
Argentina managed to overcome Brazil’s resistance through a single goal scored by Angel Di Maria in the first half, precisely in the 22nd minute. Using Rodrigo de Paul’s long , Di Maria struck the ball into the Brazilian goal, which was escorted by Ederson Moraes.
Messi did not contribute goals in the 2021 Copa America final. However, the Barcelona striker made a big contribution to Argentina’s journey to the 2021 Copa America.
The father of three children recorded four goals and five assists for Argentina throughout the title this time. That record also brought Lionel Messi to the title of top scorer of the 2021 Copa America.

Meanwhile, the 2021 Copa America Trophy is the first title that Messi has contributed to the Argentina national team at senior level, since moving up to the senior team in 2005.
Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni before the final match took place, emphasized that his team did not need an international title to be crowned a big player.
“Win or lose, he will continue to be the best footballer in history. Messi doesn’t need to win titles to show it,” said Scaloni, quoted by Sportskeeda, Sunday (11/7/2021).
