Napoli managed to emerge as Serie A champions after defeating Cagliari 2-0 in the last match at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Saturday (23/9/2025) local time.
Scott McTominay’s acrobatic kick opened Napoli’s lead before Romelu Lukaku scored the second goal and sealed the victory for Antonio Conte’s team, according to the official Serie A website.
Napoli became champions after being able to win 82 points from 38 matches. Partenopei outperformed their competitors who were only 1 point behind after Inter Milan also won 2-0 at Como’s headquarters.
Napoli managed to become champions thanks to a one-point advantage over Inter who collected 81 points in second place.
This is the fourth Italian League title in history for Napoli after previously winning in the 1986/1987, 1989/1990 and 2022/2023 seasons.
Napoli were only able to break the deadlock by breaking through Cagliari’s goal towards the end of the first half. The goal was scored by McTominay which made the home fans roar.
Matteo Politano’s from the right side into the penalty box was met by the former Manchester United player’s acrobatic kick which broke through Cagliari’s goal.
Six minutes into the second half, Napoli doubled their lead to 2-0. Romelu Lukaku’s individual action resulted in the second goal and ensured the title was won by Napoli.
It was complete for McTominay. In addition to winning the championship with Napoli, he was also chosen as the best player.

McTominay played extraordinarily with Napoli. The player who was recruited from Manchester United scored 12 goals and provided six assists.
McTominay is only two goals behind Napoli’s top scorer this season, Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian striker became the club’s top scorer in the Italian League thanks to a collection of 14 goals.
