Mike Tyson Ignores His Boxing Record Ahead of Jake Paul Fight 3h1yl

Mike Tyson Ignores His Boxing Record Ahead of Jake Paul match.

Mike Tyson doesn’t care about his boxing record that could be broken if he loses to Jake Paul at AT&T Stadium, Texas, Friday (11/15/2024).

The Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul duel is called a professional boxing fight. That means it will be Tyson’s 59th professional fight.

In the previous 58 duels, Tyson has won 50 times, 44 of which were by knockout (KO). If he loses to Jake Paul, Tyson will increase his losing record from eight to nine times.

Losing to Jake Paul, who is a celebrity and also a YouTuber, could further tarnish Tyson’s record because his opponent only started his professional boxing career in 2020.

Even so, one day before the duel against Jake Paul, Mike Tyson doesn’t care about his boxing record that could be broken.

“What do I care about my legacy?” Tyson told Interview Magazine as quoted by Express.

“I never knew what a legacy was and people started using that word carelessly. To me, legacy sounds like ego. I’m going to be dead soon,” Tyson added.

The 58-year-old boxer said that his record would no longer be interesting to people after he died. That was also the reason Tyson ignored the professional boxing record he had carved since 1985 could be destroyed by Jake Paul.

“Who cares, what people will think of me when I’m dead? We’re not talking about Charles Manson. Nobody cares about anyone when they’re dead and gone,” Tyson said.

After the match against Paul, Tyson had the opportunity to rematch Kevin McBride to avenge the defeat he suffered in 2005.

Reportedly, McBride himself has agreed if Mike Tyson asks for a rematch. Mike Tyson suffered a defeat when he faced McBride in 2005. After that match, Mike Tyson immediately decided to retire.

McBride feels that Mike Tyson can beat Jake Paul. McBride believes Mike Tyson could win by KO, although it would be more difficult due to the weight of the boxing gloves, which are 14 ounces.
