The g of Malik Beasley at the trade deadline was welcomed by Los Angeles Lakers fans.
However, it seems that the “honeymoon” mood was fleeting. It even created an emotional situation in recent days.
Beasley took to social media to wish his son, Makai Joseph Beasley, after the team’s blowout 118-108 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Sunday.
“It’s my son’s bday and I’m trying to enjoy that,” Beasley wrote in a comment that he pinned to his IG post.
“Obviously I want to be making shots myself. I’m harder on myself than [sic] anybody.. laker nation it’s only a matter of time. I put in toooo much work not too [sic]. I promise when the time to turn up comes, it will come.” he added.
Beasley has had ad a production slump since ing the Lakers. His average dropped by almost three points in his first 20 games in Los Angeles. He has made less than 35% of his long-range shots for the new team so far.
However, the performances do not consider the fans’ “pollution” of a personal celebrating post.
“I promise that, when the time is right, the pitches will start to fall. We are focused on Our playoff chase.” Beasley said.
“We will only manage to improve and move forward, however, with an atmosphere of positivity. I love you all, but please show me and my family some respect.” he added.
While Lakers coach Darvin Ham understands the crowd’s sentiments towards Malik Beasley. There is no justification, however, for the aggressive reaction on social media.
Like the player, he asks the fans for calm and confidence in relation to the newly arrived reinforcement. Especially because the pitcher will not stop trying to do this function. If it depends on the coach, it will be the opposite.
“I’m not worried about that. By the way, I encourage Malik to shoot more. I don’t care if I miss 20 shots because he’s a guy who knows how to put the ball in the basket.” Ham said.
“It is normal to go through ups and downs. Sometimes we have really bad times. What we cannot, however, is give up or stop fighting.” he added.
